HB 3693 Compliance

Compliance with HB 3693

All cities will comply with the requirements of House Bill 3693 (Government Code § 2265.001(b)) by compiling and posting the following information as soon as practicable after January 1, 2021:

  • The total metered amount of electricity, water and natural gas used by the city or governmental entity for its services in 2020.
  • The total amount paid for electricity, water, and natural gas in 2020.

 Municipal Energy Usage for Calendar Year 2020

The City of Port Lavaca purchases natural gas from CenterPoint Energy.  In Calendar Year 2020, the City purchased a total of 48.6 thousand cubic feet (MCF) of natural gas.

The City of Port Lavaca purchases electricity from GEXA Energy[1] and Victoria Electric Coop.   In calendar year 2020, the City purchased a total of 3,439,794 kilowatt hours.

The City of Port Lavaca purchases water from the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority (GBRA).   In calendar year 2020, the City purchased a total of 491,582,000 gallons of water. 

The total cost of natural gas, electricity and water purchased by the City in the calendar year 2020 is $1,495,176.83.     

[1]  As a TCAP member, the City’s provider will be GEXA Energy.  Some TCAP members may receive electric service on some city accounts from electric cooperatives.  If this is the case, indicate all electric providers that provide service for city accounts and the total amount of electricity consumed by the city.
